Grade 1 News

What a wonderful couple of weeks we have enjoyed in Grade 1!
In Mathematics, we have continued our learning about counting and place value. Students have been engaging in hands-on activities, creating number lines using hundreds charts.
We have also begun a new unit on addition, where students have been exploring the 'count on' strategy using concrete manipulatives.
In English, students have been diving into exciting stories and tackling tricky words with enthusiasm! Sam and Dave Dig a Hole sparked our imaginations as we dreamed up incredible discoveries beneath our own backyards.
Now, we’re enjoying Edwina the Emu, linking her adventures to the sounds and words we’ve been mastering in class. It’s been a fantastic journey of reading, writing, and creativity!
A big congratulations to our Week 6 and 7 award winners! We are proud of our Bernie Trophy winners, as well as the students who have demonstrated respectful, responsible, and safe behaviour in our school.
