At Bathurst Public School we are safe, respectful and engaged.
Each week we are focusing on one of our positive behaviours. This week, we have been learning about the importance of speaking and acting respectfully.

Learning Areas
Why is it important?
Safe
Create a Safe Space: When you speak and act respectfully, you help everyone feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. This makes it easier for everyone to share their ideas without fear.
Reduce Conflicts: Being respectful can help prevent arguments and misunderstandings. When we treat each other well, we all feel more at ease.
Respectful
Use Kind Words: Always use polite language when talking to your classmates and teachers. Saying "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" shows that you care about others.
Listen to Others: Pay attention when someone is speaking. Listening without interrupting shows that you respect their thoughts and opinions.
Be Considerate: Think about how your words and actions affect others. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated.
Engaged
Join in Positively: When you speak and act respectfully, it encourages everyone to participate. This makes discussions and activities more fun and engaging.
Support Your Friends: Encouraging your classmates and showing appreciation for their ideas helps build a positive learning environment where everyone feels included.
Follow Directions: Listening to and following your teacher’s instructions helps you stay focused and involved in learning. It also shows respect for their guidance.
