We are pleased to announce and congratulate our new Student Representative Council (SRC) members for 2025. The SRC plays a vital role in giving students a voice, representing their peers, and contributing to school decision-making. We are confident that this group of students will make a positive impact and look forward to seeing them take on their responsibilities with enthusiasm and commitment. Well done to all our new SRC representatives!

This week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students successfully completed the first round of NAPLAN assessments, and we are proud of their calm and positive approach. NAPLAN is a point-in-time assessment that provides valuable insights into student learning, helping us to refine and enhance our teaching programs. While these assessments are just one part of a student’s learning journey, it has been great to see students giving their best effort and approaching the tests with confidence and focus. Thank you to our teachers for their support in ensuring a smooth and well-organised start to the process.
A huge thank you to Bunnings Chatswood for their generous donation to our school garden. Their support has provided essential supplies that not only enhance hands-on learning experiences for our students in the Green Thumb Club but also allow us to grow fresh produce that can be shared with our school community after harvest. The garden plays an important role in teaching students about sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental responsibility, and with this generous contribution, we can continue to expand our program.
Next week, I have the privilege of joining our student leaders on their leadership camp, where they will develop their skills, connect with peers, and take on new challenges. A highlight of the camp will be the opportunity to collaborate with leaders from Carlingford West Public School, sharing ideas and experiences that will strengthen their leadership roles. Our students will also visit Mungo National Park, a place of deep cultural and historical significance, where they will learn about the rich heritage of the land and its importance to First Nations peoples. Additionally, they will spend time working with students from rural and remote schools, broadening their perspectives and strengthening connections beyond our own community. This will be an incredible experience for our student leaders, and I look forward to seeing the skills and insights they bring back to our school.
