Student Representative Council (SRC) Update - Term 1

This year, we are continuing the important work that began in 2025 following the restructure of our Student Representative Council (SRC). The current SRC team from Years 3-6 will remain in their roles throughout 2026 to build momentum and see through the initiatives they have started.

As part of this structure, we have recently sought input and interest from our Year 2 students. The Year 2 cohort will vote for their SRC representatives next week, and we look forward to welcoming these new members to the team.

The review and re-selection of the full SRC team will take place in Term 4, ahead of the 2027 school year. This approach allows our current team to continue their work, especially as the SRC was formed late in 2025 with a rigorous nomination and selection processes.

Current Initiatives

The SRC met earlier this term and again on Wednesday to discuss priorities across the school.

One key concern raised by students is the amount of rubbish on the playground. SRC members have been tasked with creating posters to encourage all students to keep our school environment clean and tidy. Eloise K and Mihan P's posters can be seen below. This effort will help keep our playground safe for local wildlife and ensure our school grounds remain a beautiful, welcoming space for everyone. We are incredibly proud of our school and want it to reflect the care we have for it.

The SRC is also beginning to plan its first fundraiser for Term 2, which will support ongoing improvements to our playground.

Additionally, SRC members have gathered feedback in the form of a student-led survey about activities and initiatives they would like to see in the playground. These ideas are listed below.

  • Installing a Gaga Ball Pit, with safe equipment for students to play.
  • Revitalising the sandpit by adding more sand, protective cover, and new play equipment.
  • Providing tubs of labelled handballs to support play in the newly repainted handball area.
  • Creating cubby houses in the K–2 area, to give younger students a special space.
  • Updating sports equipment, including regular checks and replacements for items such as soccer balls and basketballs.
  • Setting up a mobile Lego station so students can enjoy building outdoors.
  • Repainting playground games in the infants’ COLA, making them bright and engaging again.
  • Adding new activities such as totem tennis, hoop baskets, and giant Twister games.
