Cross Country
Last Friday, our school community came together for a fantastic Cross Country event, showcasing determination, resilience, and an incredible sense of school spirit. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, pushing through challenges, and celebrating their achievements, whether it was crossing the finish line first or simply giving it their best effort. Congratulations to those students who were successful in their races; your hard work and commitment were evident on the day. The positive energy, sportsmanship, and support from peers and staff made the event a great success. Thank you to everyone involved for contributing to such a memorable day.
Harmony Day
Tomorrow, Friday 20 March 2026, we will celebrate Harmony Day at Edgeworth Public School. Harmony Day is an important opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate Australia’s rich cultural diversity, promoting inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone in our community. Our school is proudly multicultural, with students and families speaking 33 different languages, and this day provides a meaningful chance to acknowledge and celebrate the many cultures that make our school such a vibrant place.
To mark the occasion, we will hold a whole school assembly in the hall at 2:10pm and are excited to welcome a special performance from the Salafai Central dancers. Students are encouraged to wear orange or their traditional cultural costume to show their support and celebrate our diversity. Parents and carers are warmly welcome to attend the special performance in the hall. We look forward to coming together as a school to celebrate and embrace our rich cultural community.
End of Term Celebrations
We are excited to celebrate the end of Term 1 with our annual Easter festivities on Wednesday 1 April 2026! The day will begin at 9:40am with the Easter Hat Parade for P–6, and families are warmly invited to attend and cheer on our creative and colourful hats.
Following the parade, Kindergarten families are invited to join their children and Year 6 buddies for a special Teddy Bear Picnic and games on the Area 1 oval from 11:10am–11:40am. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to share with their child. To support students with allergies, we kindly ask that families provide food only for their own child.
After the picnic, students will enjoy a range of fun rotational activities including teddy bear races, teddy and spoon races, parachute games, and more, starting at approximately 12:00pm. Kindergarten families are encouraged to stay, watch, and join in the fun!
We are also delighted that Hunter Homes will be providing a coffee van in the morning, with 100% of profits going directly to the P&C for fundraising. It’s the perfect way to grab a hot drink and support our school community. We look forward to a fun-filled day celebrating our students and the end of term!
Thank you to Hunter Home for their partnership!
Colour, Fun & Slime: Term 1 Finale
We’re finishing Term 1 off with a bang on Thursday 2 April with our Monty the Monster Colour Run! Over $10,000 has already been raised for our new playground, with 60% going to the P&C.
To join the fun, students must create a fundraising profile, which also acts as their permission note. Safety gear is provided, and profiles are secure via Australian Fundraising.
School Challenge: 350 profiles or $20,000 raised, if we hit it, the school leaders get to slime me!
