Harmony Day Friday 20 March 2026
Australia is one of the world’s most successful multicultural countries and our cultural diversity is at the heart of who we are. More than half of Australians were either born overseas or have at least one parent who was born overseas, this rich diversity is reflected in our community here at Edgeworth Public School.
Harmony Day is a time to celebrate inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for all Australians from the Traditional Owners of the land to our most recent arrivals. It reminds us that no matter where we come from, we are united by shared Australian values of freedom, respect, fairness, democracy and equal opportunity.
This year Edgeworth Public School will celebrate Harmony Day on Friday 20 March.
We warmly invite all parents and caregivers to join us for a special whole school Harmony Day assembly at 2:10pm in the school hall. We are excited to have the amazing Salafai Central dancers performing as part of our celebration. Students are encouraged to wear something orange on the day to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
