2026 INTERHOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Wow—what a fantastic day we had at the 2026 Interhouse Swimming Carnival on Tuesday, 3 March! The weather threatened to dampen our spirits, and for a moment it looked as though we might need to postpone the Carnival. Fortunately, the clouds passed, and we were rewarded with a near-perfect day for swimming.

Our Seniors led the charge both in and out of the water, motivating their houses and encouraging strong participation across all competitive and novelty events. A huge thank you to all our House Leaders and to Ms Nguyen-Hales for their hard work in the lead-up to the event and throughout the day.

The Carnival kicked off with the Seniors hitting the pool for the 50m Freestyle—setting the tone for the competitive events that followed. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the spirit of the day and representing their houses with enthusiasm. Congratulations to every student who stepped up and competed in the 50m events. Age Champions will be announced at our next assembly.

Our novelty events added plenty of fun and laughter to the day. Students propelled rubber boats across the pool to rescue duckies, captained by classmates decked out in shower caps. The relaxed atmosphere briefly disappeared as our older students battled it out in high-energy Water Volleyball matches, while the Mad 5 event ensured everyone had the opportunity to join in. The much‑anticipated Belly Flop Competition rounded off the novelty program, with the majority of our cohort gathered along the pool edge to cheer on one brave Junior and Senior boy and girl from each house. Results will be revealed at our next assembly.

After an amazing day of competition, it’s time to reveal which house came out on top…

Congratulations to Heavey House, who once again proved themselves the kings and queens of the pool! Murray House followed closely in second place, with Cahill House in third and Hutchinson House in fourth.

Thank you to every student who swam, cheered, clapped, and contributed to the wonderful atmosphere of the day. Your enthusiasm made this year’s Interhouse Swimming Carnival truly memorable.

A big thank you also goes to our dedicated teachers and school staff for ensuring the event ran smoothly. And a special acknowledgment goes to Ms Tillett for her outstanding work in preparing for and supporting the carnival.

We now look forward to our next big event—the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival on Wednesday, 1st April. Bring on the next challenge!
