Choir for Night of Music

It is an IPS tradition to have a choir at the Night of Music. We are very fortunate to have in our parent body, the excellent singer/choir director/teacher Jennette Green. This term, on Thursdays before school, Jennette has been working with the students who have chosen to be in this special choir. At the Night of Music, on Saturday 7th September, the choir will present several songs, including singing “For the Beauty of the Earth” together with the Junior Strings of Banyule. What an opportunity to sing with a string orchestra!

Here is what some of the choristers have said about choir:

Olivia (4F): It’s good because it brings people together to make a good sound.

Jasmine (4C): Choir is really fun even though I have to get used to waking up early on Thursdays.

Zoe (4C): Choir is a fun, engaging thing that we do on Thursdays and I look forward to it every week.

Corelli Strings perform in Assembly

Corelli Strings performed 3 pieces in assembly this Monday.  They started with “Topsy Turvy” by Stephen Chin which was a fun conversation between the parts. Then came “Sad Movie” by Kathy & David Blackwell which brought a sense of calm and peace. Some of the Corelli Strings players were using slurs for their first time ever. The performance concluded with the groovy “Southside Blues”. The pieces were introduced confidently by Raffaela (3J), Tennyson (4C) and Julieta (3H).

The Corelli Strings are preparing for their performance at the Night of Music on Saturday 7th September.
