Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy Fathers' Day to all of our Dads, Grandfathers and Father-like figures. We hope that all our families have a wonderful day on Sunday. Yesterday we gthered to celebrate and pray for our Dads, Grandfathers and Father-like figures. It was delightful to see so many dads who took time out of their busy lives to join us for breakfast and prayer. We are truly grateful to the P&F committee and helpers who put on a magnificent spread to keep everyone nourished. Our prayer, led by Kindergarten, was a beautiful tribute to our dads and the song at the end really expressed our gratitude for all our dads do for us. We were blessed to have Fr John lead us in prayer and we give thanks for the priests in our parish, who we call Father. Fathers' Day can bring mixed emotions and we pray for families who do not have a father present and those whose fathers have passed. We pray that this Sunday is full of blessings for all of the Fathers in our community.
On Friday 6th September parents are invited to join us for a recital celebrating the progress of our ensemble groups. Our String Ensembles and Concert Bands from Years 3 to 6 will perform in the Hall from 2:00pm. Parents and Grandparents are welcome.
Parents can enter via the Churchill Avenue gate.
We are very excited to showcase the talent of our students and hope that you can join us.
A huge vote of thanks to the P&F for a wonderful Fathers' Day Stall. The children enjoyed the opportunity to shop for their Dads, Grandfathers and Father-like figures. There was a wide selection of gifts to choose from. The children were very polite as they shopped and we are grateful to all the parents who assisted in the stall. Thanks also to Fr John for the use of the Parish meeting room. Our very efficient P&F ensured that all the shopping was completed before Lunch One. Another wonderful effort by our P&F.
Thank-you to everyone who has asked after my holiday experience. I had a wonderful time "Rocking the Plains" at the Mundi Mundi Bash. It was a very interesting experience and I am still in awe of the logistics behind conducting a three day music festival in such a remote location. It was a big change from my regular routine and I enjoyed relaxing with family while being entertained by a stream of Australian music icons. We contributed to a world record, creating the map of Australia with a record number of people (7,243) to raise awareness and funds for Beyond Blue.
Peace and Best Wishes,
Carolyn Parsell
