Koori Kids Day out

On Thursday 22nd August, 4 superstar students from OPS traveled with Miss Trewarn to Hallam Secondary College for the very first Casey North Marrung Network: Koorie Kids Day Out.

Throughout the day, Nakita, Olivia, Ezekiel and Seth participated in numerous fun activities including Hip Hop dancing, baking Lemon Myrtle cookies, traditional indigenous games and listened to a Q&A with Indigenous Melbourne Storm player, Gabriel Satrick.

Olivia said “I think it is really important to learn about the Indigenous culture so we can respect each other. I enjoyed doing the Hip Hop dancing alongside Nakita, Seth and Zeke.”

Zeke said “I loved the dancing and I would love to know more about animals”

Seth said “My favourite part was showing off our favourite dances and the cooking!”

Nakita wanted to thank the organisers of the event from the Marrung Network and Miss Trewarn for taking us.
