Hello from our students and teachers

Hi families
Literacy:
In literacy this term our class has been looking at the purpose, features and stucture of different information texts. In reading we have been learning to gather information from different sources, identify what is important, summarise and then organise the information.
We looked at how posters are used to share information in lots of settings and what some of their features are. We chose a topic for our poster and then planned, orgainsed and presented our information clearly and concisly, in a way that would encourage others to read it and learn something.
We also looked at Biographies as a form of information text and after reading and sharing lots of examples we choose someone we thought was inspirational and produced a biography on them. We did our research and found out about their family and early life, their schooling and education, their achievements and what contributions they made in their field. We looked at the traits and qualites of these people and what we could learn from them.
We worked hard on our posters and biographies over the past few weeks. We hope you enjoy looking at some of our finished products.

All data was collected and recorded and then each student filled in their team sheet with their scores for each event. The results will be tallied and the champion team will be announced at the end of the week 😊
Everyone had a lot of fun as you can see.
