Book Week 2024: A Magical Celebration of Reading!

This year's Book Week began with an enchanting parade that brought stories to life, as our school community transformed into a fantastical world of beloved book characters. The theme, 'Reading is Magic', truly came to life as witches, wizards, heroes, villains, mermaids, and even Princess Fiona and Shrek made their grand appearances. There was no doubt—magic was in the air, and the power of reading whisked us away from distant galaxies to fairytale kingdoms.

Scholastic Book Fair—A Buzzing Success!

The Scholastic Book Fair quickly became the most popular spot in the school! Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the fair. It’s a major fundraiser for our school library and we are extremely happy to announce that as a school community we raised $2400 in Scholastic Rewards. These rewards will be used over the next 12 months to help purchase new exciting books for our school library. A special thanks to Mrs. Ryan for her incredible effort and support in organizing the Book Fair and to all who have visited. Your contributions will ensure our students embark on even more magical reading adventures!

Magical Library Displays

A Theatrical Experience

On Thursday, 22nd August, we welcomed Meerkat Production Company to our school for a captivating musical adaptation of ‘Timeless’ by Kelly Canby. (CBCA Picture Book of the Year!)The story comments on good use of time, in a playful way. It was about Emit (whose name is “time” spelt backwards) lamenting lack of time to manage all the busyness he sees around him and attempting to literally capture more time. The performance was a hit, with students enjoying the experience. Students joined in by bringing along their ‘special moment jar’ and singing along to the chorus!! Time is precious and I wonder how can we appreciate and make those special moments in our lives?
