God's Love and Care for All

Our Lady's aspires to be a welcoming community unified by love, faith, hope and learning.

Term 3, Week 7

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a couple of early starts this week with our annual Father's Day Breakfasts on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Many excited students shared breakfast with their dads and had the opportunity to visit classrooms or read a story to their children in the library.

It was great to see dads take time out of their busy lives, to attend the breakfast with their children. The smiles on the children’s faces said it all! Our dad’s on staff shared why fatherhood was special to them and this is what they said:

  • Mr Pietryk says fatherhood is playing with your kids, laughing with your kids, learning with your kids, empathising with your kids and most importantly being the best possible role model through the good times and bad.
  • Mr Cliff says fatherhood and grandfatherhood is unconditional love, caring and lots of giving.
  • Mr Whitty says being a dad means an overwhelming sense of pride and love while cherishing and supporting every precious moment/milestone they come across.
  • Mr Graziano says fatherhood is a return to the vulnerable heightened state of an all loving child juxtaposed with the responsibility of a hunter and tribal elder.
  • Mr David Nolan says the thing I love about being a dad is the unconditional love and joy my children share with me every day as well as having a front row seat watching/supporting their development through the highs and the lows.
  • Mr Marc Nolan says fatherhood is a game changer. My kids are my life.
  • Mr Danny says there is no greater feeling than the love of your kids.
  • Mr Yacoub says fatherhood is about love and sacrifice.

Dad’s were also given the opportunity to tell their children what fatherhood means to them.

Some of the proceeds from the day will be donated to Prostate Cancer research. Here is the link if  you would like to make a last minute donation:  https://fundraise.pcfa.org.au/fundraisers/olps

Wishing all of our dads a special Father’s day on Sunday and we recognise the very important role you have in the lives of children.

Please check the school community calendar for planned events and activities for this term.

God Bless and have a lovely weekend.
