Community Engagement- Parent Association

All parents, grandparents and friends of Mount View Primary School are invited to join the Parent Association. We are holding two meetings in the coming weeks so that we can explore the purpose of the association and how we can work together. This might include organising social activities, contributing to fundraising events and providing opportunities for you to connect with each other and the school.

Helen and Alice from School Council will join me in leading these important conversations.

We are hosting one meeting during school time and one in the evening. You are invited to attend one of these meetings at the time that suits you best. They will be held in the staffroom at the following times:

Friday 10 May at 9.15am

Tuesday 14 May at 7.00pm

Please register your attendance using this link: Parent Association meeting

We look forward to seeing you there.

Education Week

Education Week is an annual celebration of education in Victoria.

In 2024, Victoria will celebrate Education Week from Monday 13 May to Friday 17 May.

This year’s theme, Spotlight on STEM, highlights the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in our everyday lives, in the classroom and beyond. Families are invited to attend our open morning on Tuesday 14 May from 9am -10am and see STEM in action. Further details are included in today’s newsletter.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 students attended Waratah Bay for an enjoyable and successful camp experience which included surfing and other adventure activities. This is an annual highlight for our students in their final year of primary school and I extend my appreciation to our staff and parent helpers for ensuring the success of the camp.

Rubbish in the yard

I have been increasingly concerned by the amount of rubbish in our school. Our staff are supporting students to take care of our school environment by ensuring that they put lunch wrappers in rubbish bins. Our school leaders will continue to explore ways that we can minimise our impact on the environment. You can help us by reducing the amount of packaging in your children’s lunchboxes. We all have a responsibility to maintain our beautiful school and I thank you for your support.

Today, our Years Prep, 1 and 2 students completed the walk through the school and next Friday, our Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 students will have their turn. They will add a touch of pink and you are encouraged to join them if you are able.

We ask for a gold coin donation from everyone who joins us on the walk. You can also:
