Math

Students have been learning about addition and subtraction through various activities. They have added and subtracted the numbers on domino tiles, played card games such as Salute and Friends of Ten memory cards. We have also learnt about the different addition and subtraction strategies, such as counting on, using a number line and bridging through 10s. The students have enjoyed playing the Math games!

Writing

Students have been learning to innovate on familiar texts and understanding what a sentence is. We have unscrambled sentences and learnt that a sentence is a complete thought, which needs to have a subject and a verb. This activity helped them to understand where to insert punctuation, as well as enhancing the fluency of their writing. 

We have also been learning about adjectives. We will be innovating on Go Away Big Green Monster, where the students will be creating their own monster and describe it with interesting adjectives.
