From Jonny, Prep teacher

We spent some of the first week going over the rules and expectations of our Prep Classrooms and rules of the school. We were impressed by the way the students reacted, fitting back into our routines and engaging with their learning straight away!

Math

We spent the first week experimenting with the - part - whole model, finding different ways to make numbers up to 23. This week we have been focusing on 2D shapes and being able to recognise and name these shapes in the world around us.

Word Study

We have continued to work on our sounds and are building towards applying these when writing simple sentences. We have also been reading Michael Rosen's 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and enjoyed acting out the story and even going on a bear hunt of our own around the school!
