Our school values: RISE (responsible, inclusive, sagacious, ethical)

From Sarah, Principal & Shaun, Mental Health & Wellbeing Leader

This week, our teachers and students have reviewed their existing classroom behaviour agreements. These agreements were created and established at the beginning of the year in each classroom.

All the expectations in your child’s classroom behaviour agreement are there to emphasise how we protect the right to learn, the right to feel safe and the right to respect and fair treatment. They align with our school values of Responsible, Inclusive, Sagacious and Ethical and our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix. The emphasis with any behaviour consequences at North Melbourne Primary School is not punishment, but accountability and responsibility for one’s behaviour.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix

Whole School Response to Behaviour Procedure

The Whole School Response to Behaviour Procedure clarifies the process teachers and students follow if student choices do not reflect our school values. We make every effort to encourage and support your child to learn to the best of their ability while they are with us. We will continue to work with all students to encourage and support responsible choices about behaviour and learning.

We would appreciate it if you would take time to read through our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix with your child/children and discuss the ways our school values can also be practised and demonstrated at home. We look forward to your continued support.
