Dear Tarneit Rise Community,
We are excited to introduce you to the dedicated members of our 2024 school council who play a crucial role in shaping the direction and governance of our school. Our school council is composed of individuals with diverse skillsets and career experiences, all committed to supporting our students and community.
What Does the School Council Do?
The school council works collaboratively with school leadership to oversee various aspects of governance, strategic planning, and community engagement. Here are some key responsibilities of our school council:
Strategic Planning: Developing and reviewing the school's strategic plan to ensure alignment with our educational goals and vision.
Policy Development: Contributing to the development and review of school policies that uphold our values and meet government regulations.
Budget Oversight: Reviewing and providing input on the school budget to allocate resources effectively for teaching and learning.
Community Engagement: Building positive relationships between the school, parents, students, and the broader community to enhance school involvement and partnerships.
Meet Our School Council Members
We are fortunate to have a diverse and talented group of individuals with professional expertise in administration, governance, accounting, business, and education serving on our school council. Here are our esteemed council members:
School Council President, Naomi Strauss: With a background in business admin and as one of our longest serving school council members, Naomi brings valuable experience with her in-depth knowledge of our school history.
School Council Vice President, Nycki Jarvie: As a small business owner with a safety mindset, Nycki’s enthusiasm to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students is palpable.
School Council Secretary, Lucy Williams: A critical thinker with experience in governance and policy development, Lucy aims to ensure the school has the best possible solutions and resources available and is run ethically and transparently.
School Council Treasurer, Ed Agarwal: As a new member to our council this year, Ed’s career in governance and finance will no doubt provide valuable insights into budget management and financial stewardship.
Vidhi Patel: Also new to our council this year, Vidhi brings a wealth of experience in teaching and education and advocates for student well-being and academic advancement.
Maha Narayanan: Another new school council member this year, Maha’s experience in business and accounting will no doubt be a great contribution to the success of our school council.
Grant Dew: As the elected teaching staff school council member, Grant’s extensive teaching career and evident enthusiasm for student success and wellbeing is invaluable to our school council.
Sarah Narres: As one of our school Vice Principals Sarah’s wealth of experience and calm manner helps our council remember what’s most important - the children!
Nadia Bettio: As our school Principal, Nadia’s well-known expertise ensured our school was set up with the strongest foundations and values. She has established an experienced and supportive teaching and admin staff and continues to run a tight ship allowing the school council to focus on continuous improvement.
Alyssa Tobin: As our school Business Manager Alyssa is not a member of the school council but does such an incredible job of keeping meetings documented and on track that this can’t go without mention.
Each member of our school council brings unique perspectives and expertise to the table, enriching our discussions and decision-making processes for the benefit of our entire school community.
