French News

Bonjour Parents and Students!

Just like that it is the beginning of term two for our students here at Tarneit Rise Primary School.

We have seen so much progress last term and are so excited to see what term two holds for our students.

Prep students focused on learning the French Alphabet by reciting the letters of the alphabet in French and they got to practice French educational songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkFXGlHCn_o&t=2s which is their favourite part! And they had a blast colouring the Alphabet colouring worksheet.

Grade 1 students worked on where they live and their favourite farm animals and were able to write a complete sentence explaining where they live and their preferred animal! Grade 1 students also had the chance to learn a new song. Le Vieux MacDonald a une Ferme (Old MacDonald en francais) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDcgM_U22XU

Grade 2 students learned to name family members in French and write sentences using the sentence stem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFk9YmJv-jc

Our grade 3 students focused on learning the French alphabet and search for different words in French that start with each letter of the alphabet to progress their French vocabulary.

Grade 4 students enjoyed their lesson about what we eat for 3 meals in a day and understand when to use partitive articles. They created a word list in French for 3 meals in a day and wrote sentences to present what they eat and drink.

Our grade 5 and 6 students practiced creating negative sentences in French by identifying the verb in a sentence and adding two special words around the verb.
