Celebration and Acknowledgement of Cultures

There have been a few new and exciting inclusions to our school foyer area this week! Come and take a look when you get a chance.

Firstly, on the entry doors you will see the word ‘Welcome’ written in 19 different languages that are spoken by many of our amazing, diverse families at St Patrick’s. The languages include Wadawurrung, Indonesian, Sinhalese, Igbo, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati, Mandarin, Tagalog, Iiokano, Punjabi, Italian, Vietnamese, Dutch, Spanish and Greek.

Through the entry doors, we now have our own Acknowledgement to Country plaque, to show the staff, students and their family’s awareness of, and respect for, the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which our school stands, the Wadawurrung People.
