Outdoor Update

The two new outdoor table tennis tables have been installed outside of the Year 7 classrooms along with the new outdoor volleyball court. Since the installs, outdoor play has increased dramatically with all students from Years 7-12 playing together in this fantastic outdoor space.

Next week, work will begin on the upgrade of the outdoor play area next to the Endeavour Centre. Work on this project began many years ago with a group of students, and staff

co-designing a play space, and I know our students are very excited about Phase Two of this project.

Outdoor experiences can provide an opportunity to explore, discover and appreciate the natural world, as well as be active, strengthen fine and gross motor movement skills, test physical limits and interaction. Time spent outdoors is an important part of the daily program for all children and adolescents. Adventure+ has been commissioned to create an innovative outdoor play area to further enhance the College. The project is expected to be completed within 3 weeks.

International relations

My visit to Japan in the recent school holidays was very successful and fundamental in further developing relationships with our sister city and school - paying tribute to the work that has gone into this over the past 20+ years.  The Principal of Sundai Kofu and I are comfortable that this experience is valuable and worthwhile resulting in better learning outcomes for our students.  My visit was very much appreciated showing our commitment to the relationship in the past and into the future.

The 2024 Europe trip was an enormous success with the students proudly representing our College. We were all extremely proud of our students during the study tour. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the commitment of Mr David Thiele, Mr Andrew Harten and Ms Sarah Rogers who were exceptional in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students. The students will present a personal insight into their experiences abroad in an upcoming Anchor.
