Three Way Conferences
Reports will be released to parents on Monday 24th June, a Compass message will be sent out on this day to let parents know when they are ready. Parents will have an opportunity to discuss these with their child’s teacher/s at Three Way Conferences.
From today, parents will be able to book a Mid Year Three Way Conference with their child’s class and specialist teachers (e.g Music). These can be booked through the Compass Parent Portal.
These conferences are just one way to discuss your child’s learning, their progress and to set future goals for each student, with participation from you, the parent/carer, the student and the teacher. The date for these conferences is Thursday 27th June.
Division Cross Country
On Wednesday 29th May, we had 4 students from Clyde Primary compete at Division Cross Country in Pakenham (Ethan, Dom, Namo and Carter) . They all ran so well and did our school proud. Congratulations to all of our runners!
Special mention goes to Ethan (2nd), Carter (6th) and Namo (10th), who have made it through to Regionals and will be competing on Wednesday 12th June in Hastings. Good luck, have fun and run your best!
Clyde Cup Basketball Tournament
On Tuesday 4th June, we had our first Clyde Cup Basketball Tournament. Clyde, Clyde Creek and Ramlegh Park primary schools all came together to complete against each other in a fun competition. Year 5/6 students played at Clyde Creek PS and Year 3/4 students played here at Clyde. It was great to see the teamwork and sportsmanship amongst our teams! We are looking forward to doing more Clyde Cup Tournaments throughout the year!
Thanks to all the parents that came to cheer on the teams and a special mention goes to Jenni Maypiece and Mr Brock who were fantastic referees for the 3/4 competition.
Currently, our outside basketball courts have been closed. This is due to an issue regarding the quality of the materials used in the asphalt when it was laid. This is currently being reviewed by The Department of Education. Representatives from the Department have been out to inspect the quality of asphalt, and until this is resolved we are unable to use them. Hopefully, this will be rectified soon.
Tent Day
As part of celebrating their class expectations, last Wednesday 6B got to spend outside their day… in a tent!
At the start of the term students had chosen that one of their class rewards would be to learn outside. The class had discussed high behaviour expectations that they set for each other as the leaders in the school as they worked towards filling their points goal. The weather was perfect and they used their team work skills to set up the tent. They took out their white board, picnic blankets and camping chairs. It took only 20 minutes to set up the tent and they were ready! The students then completed an escape tent (online escape room) that matched their math unit on fractions and continued our narrative writing. They read books and relaxed in the outdoors.
