This week, students are beginning to learn about addition strategies. 

VOCABULARY

Addition: Adding two or more numbers together to find the total. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Addition card game: 

Using a deck of cards, players pick up two cards. They then need to add the two numbers together and give the answer to the sum. If they get it right, they get to keep the cards. If they don’t, they have to put their cards back to the bottom of the pile. The student with the most cards at the end wins! If this is to easy, make the cards a 2 or 3 digit number.
