Careers Week
Monday, 11th of May to Friday, 15th of May
Our Careers Week displays in Buildings B and C have brought colour and inspiration to our school community, showcasing a wide range of jobs, careers, and future pathways available to students. The vibrant displays encouraged students to explore different occupations, learn about industries they may not have considered before, and start thinking about their own future goals and aspirations.

On Monday, we were fortunate to welcome guest speakers from Western Health who shared their experiences working in the nursing profession. Students gained valuable insight into the many pathway options available in healthcare, as well as the rewards and challenges of working as a nurse. The session was both informative and inspiring, giving students a greater understanding of careers in the health industry.

On Thursday, the Head Start team visited our school to conduct mock interviews and support students in developing their job-ready skills. Students had the opportunity to practise interview techniques, receive constructive feedback, and learn valuable tips on how to present themselves confidently when applying for jobs. The experience provided practical insight into the job application process and helped prepare students for future employment opportunities.

Families are encouraged to explore the free Choosing Your Uni National Virtual Expo running from 10–17 May as part of National Careers Week. The virtual expo offers live and on-demand sessions designed to help students and parents better understand post-school options, including university pathways, HECS and scholarships, student life, and ways families can support young people in making confident future decisions. Students and parents can register using the school’s unique code that was posted on Compass and access sessions at a time that suits them. Students unsure about future study options can also complete the free “What to Study” quiz to help identify areas aligned with their strengths and interests.
