Deputy Head of College News
Mr Phill Holding (Acting)
I hope families had a safe and restful break and that the first week back has been a positive start to the year for all students. As we move into Week 2, I’d like to welcome everyone back to Term 1 and thank you for the support you’ve shown in helping students return to routines and settle quickly.
It was wonderful to see our community come together across last week’s key moments. Tuesday’s Orientation Day provided a warm welcome and a confident start for students new to their year level and the College. Wednesday’s return of all students brought real energy back to classrooms and co-curricular activities, and it has been pleasing to see the students reconnecting and engaging with purpose.
We were also grateful to share Friday’s Inaugural Mass, Investiture and Academic Awards, a special occasion that allowed us to begin the year in prayer, affirm student leadership, and recognise the outstanding achievements of our young men. Thank you to the families who joined us and helped make the celebration such a meaningful one.
As the term continues, our focus remains on strong learning habits, consistent routines, respectful relationships, and the wellbeing of every student. We appreciate your ongoing partnership and look forward to a productive and successful term ahead.
The College has been made aware that several families and parents have not received information sent to them via email and has investigated to determine what has occurred.
Microsoft has recently tightened its rules around bulk emails to reduce spam and fraud.
As a result, some emails sent by the College may not be delivered to parents using hotmail.com, outlook.com, or live.com email addresses. These messages are being blocked by Microsoft before they reach inboxes, even though they are legitimate College communications.
We are working on this with our email provider, but this is still an ongoing issue. In the meantime, parents using these email services may miss College notices and updates.
To stay up to date, please ensure you are connected to the College app as key communications will share through this avenue.
Other ways to stay updated include:
Continuing to check junk mail.
The College will continue to work towards a resolution with Microsoft, and provide updates in a timely manner. We thank all families for their patience and understanding.
The College is aware that some new families are currently unable to access the Bus Fare section of Monitor within the College App.
Please be assured that students who need to use this function to travel on College buses will not be disadvantaged. Bus companies are manually recording student details and will apply fares once the issue has been resolved.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to fix this.
To ensure the safety of all students during set-down and pick-up times, we kindly ask parents to remain patient and use the designated zones.
Parking in bus zones during peak times - 8:00am to 8:30am and 3:10pm to 3:45pm - is creating congestion and safety risks. We urge parents to avoid these areas to allow buses to operate smoothly and ensure student safety.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in keeping our school environment safe and efficient.
