Welcome to Term 3 !

We hope you had a relaxing winter break. We're now starting Semester 2, which means we are halfway through the school year. It has been a fantastic year so far, with lots of wonderful events at our school.

The next eight weeks will be busy and exciting. Year 12 students are about to start their trial exams – we wish you all the best! There are also some important events coming up, like parent-teacher interviews, the Year 9 2027 subject selection night, and a principal-led school tour.

We’re also very excited to launch the 4th year of our STEAM Challenge! This project is a great opportunity for high potential and gifted students from our local primary schools. Over three weeks, four students from each school will work together in mixed groups to design and build a solar-powered car. Expert teachers from Science, HSIE, and Industrial Arts will guide them, making this a fun and inspiring learning experience.

This is the last term for Year 12, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the graduation assembly and dinner in Week 10.

Let’s make Term 3 another great term together!

NAIDOC 2026

On Friday 3 July, JJ celebrated NAIDOC Week with the theme "50 Years of Deadly."

The day began with an inspiring student-led assembly featuring special guest speeches from Aunty Karen Brown and Olivia Patten. This was followed by an amazing student performance, taught by Aunty Kerry Johnson, Maci-Grace Johnson and Ephraim Bani from Burrundi Theatre.

In the afternoon, students enjoyed whole-school activities while everyone was treated to a delicious lunch of curry chicken, curry sausages, and damper, prepared by our talented Hospitality team.

Huge thanks to all staff for organising an unforgettable celebration for our students!
