Theme: Small Acts, Big Impact.

The theme for 2026 is Small Acts, Big Impact.

Planning for a safe and supportive school community

Dear Parents/Guardians & Carers,

In Week 6, and culminating on Friday 21st August 2026, St Martin of Tours Primary School will again engage in the Bullying No Way Week with this year’s theme being ‘Small Acts, Big Impact’. BNW is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.

Creating a safe and respectful environment is a shared responsibility, and small acts can make a real difference.

Small actions, like including someone, speaking up, or showing kindness can help create change. Actions don’t need to be big to change someone’s world.

This Bullying No Way Week, we’re asking students, schools, families and communities to consider their words and actions, no matter how small, and be proud to be kind, support someone, and speak up against bullying.

Students at St Martin of Tours Primary School will participate in a classroom lesson that promotes inclusiveness, respect and a strong sense of community belonging for all students.

Prep–Year 2 focus: We can help make our school safe, kind and welcoming.

Years 3–4 focus: Building a school where everyone feels safe, included and respected.

Years 5–6 focus: Exploring how respect, empathy and effective communication can positively influence relationships and help prevent bullying.

How can you support us?

On Friday 21st August, it is our tradition for our students to wear something purple to represent our message that our school promotes a culture of kindness. Students can wear one item of purple and it could be as simple as a purple cap, hair tie, wristband, purple socks/runners or t-shirt. It is just one small way of helping us all reinforce the message of respect for one another.

Thank you and take care,
