This week Year 5 students participated in the Respect Cup, supported by the Better Health Network. We engaged in many Respectful Relationship-Based activities. We learnt about stereotypes and how they influence how people act and how it is okay to ‘set out of the box’ and be yourself.
Throughout the day, each class competed against one another, earning points for showing most respect. At the end of the day, the class who accumulated the most points won a trophy. All classes represented our school values, and everyone should be proud of their participation and achievements.
Not only did we do a lot of educational and engaging activities, but by far the most exciting thing was the tee ball tournament we took part in. At the end of the day all of the Year 5 students went outside to battle one another to test our respectfulness, through supporting and cheering each other on. We continued to win lots of points. At the end of the day, the scores were tallied, and our winners were announced. It was a close call however, 5A took out the win by just one point!
