Get to know Simon Ferwerda, Music Teacher

Although Simon started at CHPS last year, some families may not have met him yet. Simon is a Music teacher and teaches Foundation to Year 4. 

Some things about me…

I am married. I come from a large family, I am one of seven children - I have three brothers and three sisters. I also have three nephews and four nieces.

Outside of school I like to see movies, watch Collingwood play (please don’t hold that against me!), play golf and write songs. I play in an original band called Blackbird Green.

I could not go a day without coffee! I’m definitely coffee over tea!

I have worked at three other schools – Canterbury Primary, Mill Park Primary, and Carrum Downs Primary.

The best holiday I’ve been on was to Vietnam. The people were so friendly, there were so many amazing sights to see, and the food was delicious!

My favourite food is seafood.

I wish I knew more about Indigenous culture.

I collect records.

I like dogs AND cats.

My favourite time of the year is summer.
