Lost Property - last chance!
As we approach the end of term, our lost property racks are overflowing with hundreds of items of clothing. Please take a moment to check the racks today at pick up, located in the quadrangle.
Any items left unclaimed will be donated to charity Thursday morning (19th December).
Dress code reminders
Whilst we do not have a school uniform, for safety reasons, we need to insist that all students;
- Do not wear dangly earrings (even if they are cute and festive-themed)as these can easily get caught. Students with pierced ears must only wear stud earrings.
- Wear sturdy, appropriate footwear with closed toes and backs. Crocs may be comfortable but are not school-appropriate.
- Ensure that shoulders are covered at all times - strappy tops or singlets do not provide the sun protection required when playing outside.
- Ensure that any hair that reaches the shoulders is tied back when at school. We don't want any families to get the gift of headlice this Christmas.
Book Contacting
An enormous thank you to the many parents who have helped throughout the year with enormous task of contacting our fabulous book collection. I particularly want to highlight the outstanding efforts of Laura Mullan and Erin Simpson who have taken bag after bag all year! We have made an effort to sift through the many classroom libraries ensuring all books have been covered.
2025 brings us many exciting new teaching opportunities and one area that we are really excited about are multiple new novel studies for the students in Year 3-6. This means we have purchased a new novel per student and Erin happily collected 2 of the novel sets - yes, that's right ... approximately 100 books to cover over the holidays.
Please let me know if this is something you are interested in, as I always have books on the shelf waiting to be covered. Just drop by the office and ask for Jac.
CONGRATULATIONS Adele Blyga-Syrytsa
Adele played in the Junior tournament at Albert Park Lawn Tennis Club last week. She reached two finals: under-12 and under-14. In the end, Adele won the 12U and had the second 14U. Congratulations Adel on a great effort!

Buildings and Grounds Survey
We are really keen to gather the views of our community to help us prioritise future projects and to work towards an even better physical environment at SKiPPS. Our Buildings and Grounds sub-committee have put together a short survey to understand;
- which areas of the school you love?
- which parts are underused?
- which areas need improvement?
- your opinion on our playing areas?
- what facilities would you love your children to have access to at SKiPPS?
We would love you to take 5 minutes and click on the link below and share your views. This information will then be collated by our sub-committee as we create a future masterplan for how we can take our school to the next level!

School Saving Bonus - Update
The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus – a one-off $400 support for government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.
This week you will receive an email from the Department of Education with your unique $400 School Saving Bonus code. many families have already received this.
If you have multiple children enrolled in Victorian government schools for 2025, you will receive one School Saving Bonus code email per child. These emails might arrive on different days. Please make sure to check your spam/junk email folder.
A step-by-step user guide will be available on the webpage on 26 November.
If you have not received your School Saving Bonus code via email by Friday 29 November, please contact the Department of Education by emailing school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au
It is clear that, due to the sudden nature of the School Saving Bonus announcement by the State Government, the guidelines for exactly what families can use this bonus for, and how they can do this, are still being developed and clarified by the Education Department.
For this reason, our very strong advice to SKiPPS families is to hold off on allocating any of the bonus funds at this point via the portal. Instead we recommend sitting tight for now and waiting until clearer guidance and instructions are provided at the start of 2025.
Doing this will not affect your access to the funds - the $400 will simply sit in the portal ready to be spent next year when we can provide you with a clearer picture of how you can best allocate funds to pay for 2025 school camps, swimming, excursions or parent payments.
