Wellbeing

Welcome to all of our new and existing families as we begin a new school year at St. John’s.

This year the Wellbeing Curriculum will continue to be focused on the Personal and Social Capabilities Curriculum in the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0.  St. John’s has completed its partnership with The Resilience Project and while we will not be formally participating in the program, we will certainly be continuing to use the language and strategies of The Resilience Project that we have learned over the last two years to support our children to express Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness to build resilience.  We thank Hugh, Martin and our school consultant Luke for their support during our partnership.

This term, we will continue to run our Wellbeing Clubs during the first half of the lunch breaks each day.  Please see the poster below to be aware of which clubs will be offered this term.

If you have any old Lego that you no longer use and wish to donate, please bring it along to the school office to add to the Lego Club resources.

Getting the day off to a great start.

As we settle into Term 1, it is timely to remind everyone of the benefits of starting the day on time so that your child can participate in the early morning predictable routines and the Ready to Learn circle in their hub. This will ensure they can bring their body and mind into the present with focus in order to prepare to be ready to learn.  We encourage all of our families to develop predictable morning routines for your children at home to help them to develop time management and organisational skills.
