Learning and Teaching

Foundation
🚒👮♂️🔨 Our Foundation learners have had so much fun learning about the important people who help our community! 🚒👮♂️🔨
We were lucky enough to welcome some very special visitors. Detective Anthony, Firefighter Tyson, Welder Dylan and Tiler Corey. To make it even more special, these important community helpers were also some of our amazing Foundation Dads!
Our learners loved hearing all about their jobs, why their roles are so important in our community, how they help others, and the ways they keep themselves and other people safe while at work. There were lots of curious questions, exciting discussions and big smiles as we learnt more about these important careers.
We thank these four special people so much for giving up their time to visit us today, share their knowledge and help bring our learning to life. We loved learning from you!
Year 4
In our Literacy block, students have been reading Uncle X Box and exploring the impact of colonisation on First Nations Peoples. This has supported thoughtful discussions and deeper understanding of historical events and their ongoing effects.
Students have been busy composing factual recounts, learning to sequence events in chronological order. They have used SPO planning templates to clearly structure their writing, identifying what each paragraph will focus on and selecting appropriate supporting details to inform their audience. They have also been learning how to turn note-taking facts into complete sentences to strengthen their writing and improve clarity.
