Year 9 Course Structure and Subjects Offered

Year 9 students will study a range of core subjects, as well as a minimum of one semester of an Art Elective and one Technology elective. Year 9 continues to follow the Victorian Curriculum (F-10), whilst allowing students to explore a variety of subjects they may not have had the opportunity to study previously.

 

All year 9 students will study the following core subjects and will also choose a further four electives (from any Domain Area).

Year 10 Course Structure and Subjects Offered

In Year 10, students study six subjects per semester, in alignment with a VCE timetable.   Each subject is allocated three 74-minute lessons per week. Year 10 provides students with an opportunity to explore a variety of subjects to find interests and passions that may be pursued into Year 11 and 12. It also allows students who are invited, to accelerate and undertake a Unit 1 & 2 subject in Year 10. 

  

All Year 10 students will need to study at least onesubject from each of the following CORE domain areas:

  The remainder of student subjects may comprise Electives (from any Domain Area), further Core (Humanities and/or Science), VET, and/or a VCE Units 1 & 2 subject (Including VCE VM).  If a Unit 1 & 2 subject is undertaken in Year 10, this will take the place of two elective subjects. If the Unit 1 & 2 subject is from either Humanities or Science, the student is still required to undertake the Year 10 Humanities and Science electives.
