Kids Corner

The “Kids’ Corner” section of our school newsletter provides the opportunity for the children to showcase their talents or communicate something special.

This fortnight:

  • Myra (Year One) loves to write and she would love to share her holiday recount and her entry in the City of Monash Golden Tales Competition, where the children were asked to write about, “ a special old person in your life”

Myra’s entry:

I am watering plants with my grandma,

And a bee flies by, the new flowers grow.

I love doing things with my grandma,

We talk and play, we have so much fun.

I love my grandma,

She’s so fun, caring, loving and kind.

We could sit together and talk for hours.

She’s the closest to my heart,

Even though we live miles apart.

Experience of Bali Trip:

  • Boyan (Year 4) would like to share how much his writing has progressed. He has been focusing on writing an introduction that engages the reader and a conclusion, that ‘wraps up’ what he has written. What do you think of these?

Introduction:

Did he just do that? Wait, replay! Watch again! Yep, he did!

Whether it’s a dribble move that beats a doble team, or a ‘no-look’ 3 pointer, Steph Curry is sure to shock people in the stadium and people watching from their homes. This is Steph Curry!

Conclusion:

Steph Curry’s legacy extends far beyond his numerous records, championships and awards. He has redefined the game of basketball by making shooting 3 points look easy.

Curry’s leadership and enthusiasm leads his team to victories. Let’s hope that his son, Canon, can continue his legacy and make it even better. His story proves that with hard work and training, you can achieve your dreams.
