We have had another outstanding start to the term as we return from the holidays and back into our learning mindsets. We have so much fun and exciting learning brewing in our classrooms to long anticipated events around the corner, such as:
On the 9th of October, 32 students from our school participated in the Divisional athletics. These students qualified by placing in the top 2 in our school athletics day and then the district event. What an achievement! At the divisional meet, two students qualified for regionals, and we wish them the best of luck but I would also like to congratulate the students who participated in the divisional event.
On the 16th of October, the Year 6 boys’ basketball and girls cricket teams will be participating in their grand finals. I wish them lots of luck and hope they have a great time competing and playing with their friends.
On Friday, we will be having the long-awaited Fun Run! So far, we have raised an amazing $16,700 - so thank you for all the people who contributed and created an account. The fun run is going to be an amazing and memorable experience for everyone! So don’t forget to wear your white clothes and keep raising some funds for our new Year 6 play area.
Next week, our Year 4 students will be going to Camp Silverband lodge. Camp is a great way for the year 4’s to build on their responsibility, independence and organisation skills. I am sure they will enjoy it and like the time they get to spend with their friends.
On the 24th of October, our Year 6 student leaders will be going to Glen Waverley Secondary Collage for their third leadership day. At every leadership day our student leaders do an exceptional job at representing our school and showing their best leadership skills. We expect nothing less from them. They will be learning lots of leadership and collaboration skills and work on their project with Glendal and Mount View Primary Schools and Glen Waverley Secondary College. We look forward to sharing more information about our exciting project soon!
Thank you for reading this fortnight’s newsletter I hope you enjoy the next two weeks.
