Visual Art News
With preparations for our Science Expo well under way we’ve been very focused on completing and presenting our artworks. We have prepared a number of fun activities based on our steampunk theme, for students to have a go at on Thursday afternoon.
Come along to the Art room and see Rob Bot, our resident giant robot and create your own mini robot or help add some colour to one of the amazing robot drawings our senior students have prepared or even have a go at building your own springy metallic robot.
Some of our senior students have been experimenting with origami this term and Chelsea has really challenged herself to create ever smaller pieces. Check out these amazing paper cranes, the size of a pea!
Term four resources call-out!
We are planning a fabulous textiles term, to close out the year in Art and we are also launching ourselves into the very large project of painting a mural on the wall of the main building, at the basketball court area. We would love some resources to help carry out these plans.
If anyone has a sewing machine they may be prepared to loan us for tote-bag making, we would be very grateful. We do have an enormous quantity of fabric from the wonderful people at Bradley’s Curtains and Blinds in Woodend BUT we would happily receive sewing thread, embroidery thread, large needles and any other nifty sewing embellishments etc you may be wanting to get rid of.
A very busy but very exciting term four awaits!
In addition to the many goings-on used our time in lunch time Creative Club to put the yarn bomb back on the tree at the art room gate area. It’s amazing what happens when you turn old, faded wool inside-out and give it a wash!!
