Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Science Expo – Thursday, 12th September
We are excited to invite families to our upcoming Science Expo on Thursday, 12th September from 3:45 PM to 5:45 PM. Our students have been working tirelessly to prepare, and they can’t wait to share their learning with you! The variety of topics explored has been incredible, showcasing the curiosity and creativity of our young scientists. From fascinating experiments to innovative projects, there will be something to capture everyone’s interest. We look forward to seeing you there for an afternoon of discovery and celebration of student achievement!
2025 Class Requests Now Open
We are now accepting requests for the 2025 school year! Parents and guardians can submit requests regarding friendship groups or specific student needs to help us with class placements.
While we seriously consider all parent requests, please understand that we may not be able to grant every request. Our goal is to create balanced and supportive learning environments for all students. Also, please note that we will not be taking requests for specific teachers.
To submit a request, please email it to Andrew.bloomfield@education.vic.gov.au by the 11th of October. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to another great year of learning together!
Voluntary Payments
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who have generously contributed $230 as the Voluntary Parent Payment. Your support has significantly enriched our school and expanded the scope of programs we can provide. Historically, these contributions have empowered Macedon Primary School to offer diverse and enriching curriculum experiences to all our students. Additionally, they have facilitated the enhancement of classroom resources, particularly in our reading programs.
Furthermore, we invite and encourage voluntary contributions towards the improvement of our Building and Grounds, as well as for the enrichment of our Library.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to contribute and would like to do so, payments can be conveniently made through XUNO. For further details, please reach out to the office. Your continued support is deeply appreciated.
Lost Property
Our lost property racks is overflowing with clothes! We kindly remind parents to pop in and check if any of their children’s belongings are there before the end of term. It's a great opportunity to reclaim any lost items before they are donated. Thank you for your help in keeping our lost property under control!
PJ Movie Day
A big thank you to all the students who participated in our PJ Movie Day! It was a fantastic event, and everyone had a great time relaxing in their pajamas and enjoying the movies. We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to your support, we raised $264, which will go towards replacing the soccer goal nets. Your contributions will help improve our school’s sports facilities, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Well done, everyone!
Planning for the 2025 School Year
As we begin preparations for the 2025 school year, we need accurate student numbers to ensure we have adequate staffing and resources in place. If your child is planning to leave Macedon Primary School at the end of 2024, please notify the school office as soon as possible.
Your cooperation will help us create the best possible learning environment for all students. We appreciate your support as we plan for another successful year at Macedon Primary School!
Sunsmart
We would like to remind everyone that our SunSmart period has officially started. As part of our commitment to keeping our students safe from harmful UV exposure, all students are now required to wear a sun-protective hat when they are outdoors.
End of term dismissal
A reminder that next Friday the 20th of September is the last day of term 3, school will be dismissed at 2:30pm on this day, after school care will commence from 2:30pm. Term 4 will commence on the 7th of October.
Warm regards,
Andrew Bloomfield
