VET news
Box Hill Institute held their World Skills regional competition for their 1st year VET Carpentry students on Friday the 13th of September.
Isla Kondratenkov and Skylar George, who are both enrolled in the VET Carpentry course at the Lilydale Campus, were invited to participate in this event. This was a great opportunity to demonstrate the skills they’ve acquired through their VET course, as will the chance to compete for some great prizes and progress to the next stage of the competition. Both Isla and Skylar accepted the invitation and arrived at the Box Hill campus bright and early, for an 8.30am start.
Their carpentry trainer, Jamie Hardy, praised both of the girl’s efforts on the day. A big congratulations to Isla who placed in the top three after judging by a panel of experts. She has been invited to compete in the next stage.
