Acknowledgement of country
New Acknowledgment of Country
We are proud to announce that our new Acknowledgment of Country has been finalized and voted on by our Indigenous staff and students. This significant piece reflects the values and connection to the land we stand on. In future we will use the following acknowledgment at all major school events:
“We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri people and their elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge their connection to the land and waterways that we stand on today that was never ceded. We recognise the cultural impact they play in our lives.”
This acknowledgment created by the students of the Riddell 3 Home Group is a meaningful way for our school community to respect and honour the ongoing cultural and historical significance of the Wurundjeri people, the traditional custodians of this land.
