Senior Leadership News

The Senior Leadership team had a busy Term 3!

During Week 5, some brave students from Elderslie High School made a hairy sacrifice and joined the World’s Greatest Shave.  These individuals included Tom Collins and Tariq Bennett from Year 7, Ryland Bright from Year 8, Kaliska Nenadic in Year 11 as well as Mr Hudson and Mr Rafferty. Along with the phenomenal fundraising that these individuals raised, the school also held a mufti day and students were asked to bring a gold coin donation to go towards this cause.  In total, as a school community, we collectively raised over $4600 which was donated to the Leukemia Foundation. Well done to all.

During Week 6, the school celebrated and promoted 'Wear it Purple Day' which is a day to celebrate diversity.  Our Prefects were joined by other students who together created a colourful mural with chalk. It was designed to be engaging and inclusive to all students who walked through the bus bay gates and started their school day with positivity and kindness.

More recently, we were excited to be introduced to the 2025 captaincy team!  These student leaders were announced at the Week 8 assembly. They are a fantastic bunch of young leaders who have a big year ahead of them. The team includes Elle, Callumb, Emma, Will, Casey, James and our two school captains are Rylee and Bethanie.  Congratulations to these students and their families, this is an excellent opportunity and Mr Atterton is looking forward to working with you and a new senior leadership team next year as you grow into these roles. We definitely have a huge 2025 to plan for!

Also in Week 8, our team hosted our now annual event, the Year 12 Trivia and Games night. This is fast becoming a much anticipated event on the school calendar which sees students, parents and teachers play a series of trivia rounds and games whilst competing for some impressive prizes. It is a fun night whose purpose is to raise funds for our Year 12 end of year functions. The prize pool this year was worth over $5250, thanks largely to the hard work behind the scenes of the senior leadership team sourcing donations and sponsorship from the local community and businesses leading up to the event. Thank you to all who attended and congratulations again to all the winners. Of course, this night could not have been the great success that it was without the generous support of these local businesses. So a huge thank you to must go out to the following;

Finally, to our departing Captaincy Team of 2024. It has been an absolute pleasure to have worked so closely and be part of your inner workings. You’ve grown into your roles as student leaders and gone above and beyond with your creation and facilitation of your various student lead initiatives. There have been countless hours behind the scenes that have gone into this and you have represented the school with excellence, service and honor. In return, I have been rewarded with an immeasurable amount of laughter, pride and responsibility. To Carlee, Jasper, Angelina, Joshua, Noah, Xavier, Emma and Caterina, thank you for being the best school captaincy team that I have had the pleasure of working with for quite some time.
