Locally and globally, we answer the call to love God and love our neighbour, and work to establish the reign of God through serving those in need, and acting for justice and creation. During October it is World Mission month. Catholic Mission is the Pope’s international Mission agency in Australia. It is an international organisation that partners with communities, helping them to flourish by supporting grassroots projects, including health care, education, and spiritual care.
At St Edward’s School we invite all students to be involved in our 2 fundraising opportunities, the first one being:
FREE HAT FRIDAY - on Friday 18th October (tomorrow).
We ask that students wear their normal Sport uniform and a hat of their choice.
Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation for this worthy cause.
Our second fundraiser for Catholic Mission falls on Children's Mission Day - Wednesday 23rd October (Wednesday, Week 2)
We ask that students wear their normal Sport uniform and a pair of crazy socks. Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation for this worthy cause.
On Friday 18th October (tomorrow) all students at St Edward's School will join children from around the world to pray the Rosary. The idea for the campaign came about in 2005 in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. While a number of children were praying the rosary at a wayside shrine, several of the women in attendance strongly felt the presence of the Virgin Mary. They immediately thought of Saint Padre Pio’s promise: “When one million children pray the rosary, the world will change” and that is exactly what this is all about: having faith in the power of children’s prayers. Tomorrow we will be praying together for peace in our world.

Our annual Book Fair will be held next week (week 2)!!
Students will have the opportunity to browse available books with their class prior to the Fair and create a "Wish List" of books that they would like to purchase at their campus.
Primary Sale Day- Wednesday 23rd October, 8.00am - 3.30pm, Primary Library
Infants Sale Day - Thursday 24th October, 8.00am - 3.30pm, Infants Library
If you have students at both campuses you are welcome to attend either campus on sale day. Generally the books are the same at each campus, but some stationery items may differ. Both Fairs will open at 8.00am, students with a parent present will be able to come into the Library to purchase books between 8.00 - 9.00am.
If you are unable to make it to the Fair on sale day, but would like to purchase from the Fair, you are able to send cash with your child in a zip locked bag or use the prepaid option on the back of the Wish List. If using the prepaid option, your child will need to present their completed Wishlist showing the amount you have transferred and the 8 digit receipt number you will receive when you have completed your transfer. If we do not have this receipt number, this may delay your child getting their books. Students with cash or a completed Wish List who did not attend the Fair prior to school will be collected during school hours to attend the Fair.
Payment Options for Book Fair
There will be 3 payment options for purchasing books at our Book Fairs:
Option 1 EFT - This year we have arranged to have 2 EFTPOS machines at each Fair to assist with the early morning rush. There will be a 1% transaction fee on EFT purchases.
Option 2 Cash - we will be accepting cash payments on our sales days. If you choose to send your child with cash, please ensure it is in a zip locked bag with their name, class and amount on it.
Option 3 - Avoid the queue and use the prepay option on the back of your child's Wish List. Students will complete a Wish List with their class prior to our campus sale days. Parents decide how much their child can spend at the fair and will transfer the amount they choose direct to Scholastic prior to sale day. This option works like a gift card that the student can spend at the Fair. It is important that students using the prepaid option bring and present their completed Wish List clearly showing the amount transferred and the
8 digit Receipt number on the back.
