School Events Recap

Zone Lightning Premiership

Last Friday, our students showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship at the Zone Lightning Premiership. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive parents for making this event a success. Congratulations to all our students for their enthusiastic participation, and a special shoutout to our soccer team for their outstanding victory!

 

P&F Trivia Night

The P&F Trivia Night held last Saturday was a resounding success, with nearly 80 people in attendance. We enjoyed a fun evening filled with laughter and friendly competition. A big thank you to the organisers, attendees, and the companies that generously donated prizes.

 

Hoop Time Basketball

Monday's Hoop Time basketball event was a fantastic display of team spirit and athleticism from our Year 5/6 students. Their enthusiasm and cooperation made the day both enjoyable and memorable. Thank you to Mrs Ary for organising this and staff and parents who supported it. 

 

Performance Evening Tonight

We are excited for tonight’s Performance Evening, which will feature our Art Show and African Drumming presentation. This event is the culmination of nine weeks of hard work for the African Drumming lessons.  A special thanks to our staff, particularly Mrs McArthur.

Upcoming Events

Pyjama Day – Tomorrow

In support of RUOK Day, tomorrow we invite everyone to come to school in their pyjamas. This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about mental health and well-being among our students.

 

Fire Carriers Cultural Immersion Day – Monday

Next Monday our Fire Carriers will participate in a Cultural Immersion Day. This will be an enriching experience for all involved, offering deep insights into cultural traditions and practices.

 

Footy Day – Thursday

Thursday will be Footy Day, with lunch organised by our fantastic P&F team. Thank you to everyone involved in planning and preparing for this fun-filled day. Don't forget to put in your forms to order your lunch.

 

School Closure Day – Friday

Please remember that Friday will be a School Closure Day to allow our staff to focus on professional development in the Teaching and Learning Sphere. We appreciate your understanding and support in making alternative care arrangements for your children.

School Attendance and Unexplained Absence

Please contact the school if your child is going to be absent by leaving a message on  

9786 4736 and press 1. Please give details of your child’s name and class with areason for their absence such as: unwell, appointment, holiday or family reasons. Alternatively an email can be sent to office@saseaford.catholic.edu.au with cc to the child’s teacher.

 

If you are running late, (after 9:00 am) please attend the office to sign your child into school and collect a late pass.

 

If you are picking up your child early you will need to collect them and sign them out from the office.

 

As per our policy this will be our morning routine for absences:

 

Parents will be contacted as soon as practicable on the morning a student is absent via a text message.

If parent does not contact the school after receiving the text message, the school will contact the parent by phone. If the parent is unreachable the emergency contacts will be contacted by the school.

If there is still no response, and the school feels that the child is in danger, the police will be contacted.

Ongoing unexplained absences or lack of cooperation regarding student attendance will result in a formal conference being organized. Unresolved attendance issues will be referred to D.H.H.S.

This is a legal requirement.
