Message from the Principal
Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,
I hope that families were able to have a small break over the long weekend. Most people do enjoy the change from routine but I also know that a lot of children miss the regular rhythms of weekend sport and commitments!
Celebrations
Schools are very busy places. I wrote last week of the power of ‘micro moments’ for us all. Recently I had the privilege to listen to some outstanding writing from our Year 3 students connected to European colonisation of Australia. These pieces were written with a deep level of understanding and historical accuracy. These moments are repeated time and time again, day in, day out around the school. It is one of the things that makes a school eternally full of unlimited hope and optimism.
Cross Country
Well done to our Cross-Country runners last Thursday at the Division competition. All our runners put in 100% and should be very proud of their placings. A special mention to Piper W for winning her race. We will have several runners going through to the next round next week.
Student Leaders
Our Year 6 student leaders are always busy behind the scenes. Not only do they compile their learning reports for assembly they are always thinking about how to improve things. One example is our Peer Support Leaders, Ollie and Adele, who have come up with a lunchtime activity idea for our Prep - Year 2 students. They will be visiting the junior grades before the end of term to explain what the activities are and how our younger students can get involved.
Staff Update
The school was thrilled to hear of the safe arrival of a healthy baby girl for Miss Harris, last Monday, Elsie Rosalie McNair - congratulations to her and Kieran.
On another staff related note, across the system there has been an increase in the number of teachers and support staff being away due to illness. It is normal for this time of the year. We always aim to replace absent teachers with consistent and regular CRTs, but this isn’t always possible. So, if your child’s teacher is away and there are different CRTs, or the class is occasionally split, please continue to trust that the situation is not unique to EEPS, and that we always do the best we can with the resources available to us.
Prep Enrolments 2026
The enrolments for Prep 2026 are flowing in. Just a reminder that if you have a younger sibling starting at EEPS next year please make sure to bring in your completed enrolment forms. If you don’t, but know other families who are starting the school journey, then please remind them that this is the time when we work on all the enrolment processes. It really is an exciting part of the year.
Lastly, don’t forget that House Athletics for Year 3-6 students is coming up this Thursday, 12th June.
Have a great week of Learning and Growing Together.
Kind regards
Warren Lloyd
