Dear God,
we thank you for the gift of learning,
for the minds you have given us to explore, discover, and grow.
Guide us with your wisdom and understanding,
that we may learn not just facts and figures,
but also the deeper truths of life.
We thank you for our teachers and mentors,
who have shared their knowledge and inspired us to learn.
Help us to use what we have learned to make a positive impact
on the world and to continue learning throughout our lives.
Amen
At St Fidelis, we recognise that parents are the first educators in their child’s faith journey. As a Catholic school, we support this by offering Parent/Child workshops and faith formation opportunities across all year levels.
We warmly invite the following 2025 Year 1/2 cohorts to attend an upcoming Faith Formation Workshop:
1/2VS & 1/2CW: Thursday 26th June, 7:00pm
1/2NA & 1/2OB: Thursday 28th August, 7:00pm
These workshops will be facilitated by Pauline Cicutto, a Religious Education Learning Consultant at MACS, who specialises in faith formation evenings for families.
Further details will be shared closer to the dates. In the meantime, please add these important events to your calendar.
– Assembly Visit from Br Doug
Last Friday during our school assembly, we were fortunate to welcome Br Doug, who visited St Fidelis to speak to the students about the important work carried out by the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies). He shared with us how Vinnies supports individuals and families who are less fortunate than us and are experiencing hardship.
Br Doug explained that during the colder winter months, Vinnies is in urgent need of essential items to help people doing it tough. As a school community, we have a longstanding tradition of supporting this worthy cause through donations.
This year, our Social Justice Leaders and Year 6 cohort will take on the important responsibility of collecting, sorting, and preparing the donated goods for distribution. We are proud of their leadership and commitment to social justice, and we thank all families in advance for their generosity in supporting the Vinnies Winter Appeal. Together, we can make a difference. The following goods are recommended for donation:
Canned foods | Baked beans, spaghetti, corn, soup, tuna, sardines. |
Non perishables | Pasta, rice, long life milk, jam, sugar, tea bags, noodles, soup packets, cereal. |
Clothing: | Beanies, socks, scarfs, blankets. |
Toiletries | Disposable razor blades, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant. |
Baby items Baby clothing | Nappies, wipes Sizes 0-3 years of age. |
All donations can be made directly to your child's class or can be left in the front school foyer. Your kind donation will assist those in need.
Throughout the term, the students will have the opportunity to attend Mass. We warmly invite parents and carers to join us for these special celebrations, as they are a meaningful part of our faith journey.
This week, 5/6MC and FLW will be attending Mass on Tuesday 17th June at 9:15am.
We hope you can join us.
God bless and have a great week.
