Principal's Message

2025 School Theme - Why Team, Why Team Westbreen

Dear Westbreen PS Families,

Welcome to week 10, we have a fantastic week planned, full of engaging activities to wrap up the final weeks of term 2.

This is a friendly reminder that Planning Week, as mentioned in previous newsletters, is taking place this week. Over the next few days, teams will be working on planning teaching and learning opportunities for Term 3. The specialist timetable will be adjusted for the week to allow year-level teams time to collaborate and prepare these learning programs.

Monday: Specialist Team

Tuesday: Year 5/6

Wednesday: Year 3/4

Thursday: Foundation

Friday: Year 1/2

Year 5/6 Camp - YMCA Anglesea

I would like to wish all the students participating in the Year 5/6 Camp at YMCA Anglesea an amazing time next week. Camps provide valuable experiences for students, allowing them to learn in a different environment outside of school. To the staff and volunteers who support this event—thank you! The lack of sleep is always worth the smiles on the students' faces as they step off the school bus and enjoy camp activities while connecting with their peers. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Have fun, everyone!

Parent Involvement - The Secret Ingredient to Your Child's School Success

Positive parent participation shows children that you value education and have a high regard for our school. When parents are involved, it helps demystify the school experience for children, allowing them to see it as an extension of their home rather than just an educational institution. This perspective can significantly increase their chances of success.

Parent involvement can take many forms beyond just helping in the classroom. If you're interested in getting more involved at our school, please reach out to Ms. Kerry, our Family Engagement Officer, at 9306-9481 during school hours.

Reporting to Families

Student Semester Reports:

As part of our communication with families, student semester reports will be available on Xuno on Friday, June 27th. Please follow the instructions provided on Xuno to access the reports online. The school is working hard this week to prepare these reports to go live on Friday! We encourage you to review these reports with your children to celebrate their successes, and we look forward to discussing their future learning plans at the Reporting Day on Tuesday.

Reporting Day Reminder:

Three-way conferences will be held on Tuesday, July 1st, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families are requested to schedule a time on Xuno to meet with the classroom teacher to discuss their child's progress over the past two terms. Specialist teachers will also be available, with limited timeslots. Please note that students should only attend school during their scheduled conference time and must remain with their parents, please avoiding playing on the playground. Our staff is excited to celebrate your child's progress and discuss the next steps for their learning.

School Saver Bonus

We will be holding a parent check-in on the School Saver Bonus on Thursday, June 26th, at 3:20pm, in the school library, for those families that may still be unsure or need some assistance with allocating funds to Activities.  If you have any questions about the School Saver Bonus, please feel free to come by the library, and we will be happy to assist you.

Playgroup - Every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m:

All families are welcome! Last week, we had a high turnout, with many children aged 5 years and under having fun. Thank you to Ms. Kerry and Georgia Poletti Moulds, parent of Raphy, for all your help.

2026 Enrolments:

Thank you to all the families who have already submitted their enrolment forms! We encourage our 2026 Foundation families to visit the office to complete the enrolment process by filling out the school enrolment form and providing evidence of their child's date of birth and immunisation record. To assist with planning, we kindly request that parents finalise their enrolments by the end of this term. This is crucial as we begin workforce planning in early Term 3. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the enrolment process, please contact Ms. Kerry Parfett, our Community and Enrolment Facilitator.
