Year 5 News

Dear Families,

Term 2 is slowly coming to a close and what an amazing and eventful term it has been.

The students have had a range of different experiences this term from their trip to Sovereign Hill and MacKillop College and later this week they will be experiencing their Coast Care incursion. This incursion will teach them about sustainability and the environment. We Have also started our True North program where students are learning about different values and character strengths in an engaging hands-on program from the North Melbourne Football Club.

In class, we have started our informative unit putting our knowledge of colonial history of Australia to work. Students have been completing data investigations to create a range of graphs for interpretation. Finally, in Wellbeing, we have been continuing our work on character strengths and how they can assist us in our learning and throughout social interactions.

We hope you all have a great end to the Term with lots of fun and learning still to come in these next few weeks.

It’s getting chilly out there, we recommend layers (clearly labeled) and would appreciate if you could donate a box of tissues to your class
Please pack a healthy fruit or vegetable snack everyday.
Please bring a drink bottle to school each day
Students have reminded to fill in their dairy when they read, teachers are checking diaries every day.
Students should be reading every night for at least 15 - 20 minutes as well as completing at least 1 home learning task
