Updates from Miss Maree

Dear Families,

What a busy two weeks it has been!

We are now on the home stretch to holidays with two (busy) weeks left of term. Please ensure you are checking Dojo and School Socials (Facebook & Instagram) for all up to date information. Miss Maree is recovering well from her second round of eye surgery, and is home resting. She has snuck into school a couple of times already, so we know she's already on the mend.

Reports are in full swing and close to being finalised. An enormous amount of work goes into writing the reports, it is an opportunity for staff to reflect on the children's learning and development over the past semester. Please take time to read the comments and share them with your child. These will be released to families at the end of Week 11 and are accessed via the PAM app, so please ensure you are connected so you can access your child's report. If you need any support with this, please contact Sarah in the office.

PSG meetings will run this coming Tuesday 24th June and all families have been contacted if this involves your child. A lot of planning and work goes into these meetings, and they are of great value for all involved.

This term we have 4 students completing their Sacrament of Reconciliation. We will gather as a school community on the final day of term, Friday 4th July at 11:45am for a School Mass at St Malachy's Church, followed by the students making their first Reconciliation.

We are looking forward to celebrating Maysie, Lucas, Scout and Hunter as they take the next step in their faith journey.

Last Thursday Huda and Fin were our leaders to share a book with our GRPSA Kinder visitors. We are loving the connection we've made with them and we're excited to share our dance moves with each other next week!

The children's Community Project is coming along well. Their collaborative art pieces are taking shape and we are looking forward to showcasing the process with you all.

We are holding a 'Gallery Walk' through the learning spaces on the last day of school, Friday 4th July at 1:30pm-2pm.

We would love it if you could attend and see what we've been creating.

School finishes at 2pm on that Friday.

Our wonderful Miss Gab will be heading on leave at the start of next term. Gab will be on leave for the first 6 weeks of Term 3 and we are excited to welcome Miss Evie who will be joining the Foundation class as Gab's replacement. Evie already has some wonderful connections to the students through her work with some of the children who attended GRPSA Kinder in the past few years.

The leaders in the Gr 5/6 space have been busy organising some fun and yummy treats for us in the coming weeks. Next Wednesday 25th June we have toasties and hot chocolates available for students who are wanting to try some new tasty treats. Order forms went home this week so please make sure they are in by Monday so your child does not miss out. The last Wednesday of term, 2nd July some student leaders will be running a sports carnival in the afternoon to celebrate end of term. This will run from 2:15-3:20pm so feel free to come along if you're around.

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Take care and stay safe,

Ebony
