Solstice and Planting Day

Tonight sees a major school event taking place to celebrate the middle of winter and the coming arrival of lighter mornings and evenings! After the success of our first ever event last June, the Winter Solstice returns bigger and better in 2025! We have combined the event this year with an opportunity to get involved with working together with the EcoCentre to plant a new habitat corridor in the area at the back of the school - a great opportunity to be involved in crafting a brand new addition to our local community.

School Planting Day
Today many of our students have been involved in planting hundreds of native plants in the area of parkland immediately to the rear of our school.
This project is the brainchild of school parent Nadav and the Port Phillip Eco Centre - creating a vibrant habitat corridor at the entry into Albert Park.
As you can see from the photos, the students and Eco Centre staff (alongside some parent volunteers) have done an amazing job at transforming the area already.
It is not too late to get involved - families are invited to join in straight after school for a community planting session (before the solstice starts).
