From the Principal's Desk

Dear Lord,

We thank you for each new school day and everything it offers. We ask that you give us the strength and courage to do our tasks with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.

Guide us through each lesson and help us to understand new learning and challenging topics.

As we come together from different backgrounds, please help us to respect each other’s differences and work as a team towards success.

Give us the patience and grace to be united, to never fear being wrong and to grow from our mistakes. Amen.

"The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing."

At our school, we believe that learning is a journey—and like any journey, there are bumps along the way. One of the most powerful lessons we can teach our children is that mistakes are not something to be feared or avoided; they are an important part of learning.

When a student gets a question wrong, spells a word incorrectly, or forgets a step in a science experiment, this is not failing— it is learning. Each mistake is an opportunity to think again, ask questions, and grow stronger through increased knowledge and skills.

In our classrooms, we encourage a “have a go” attitude. We remind students that even the most successful sportspeople, authors, inventors, and scientists made many mistakes before they achieved their goals. What matters most is their willingness to try, reflect, and try again.

We celebrate mistakes as opportunities to learn—moments when children learn something new because of an error. This helps remove the fear of being wrong and replaces it with curiosity and resilience.

As parents and caregivers, you can support this mindset at home by praising effort rather than perfection and talking positively about the times you’ve learned from your own mistakes.

Let’s continue to work together to create confident, curious learners who know that mistakes are not the end of the road—they’re just the beginning of deeper understanding.

The Term 2 holidays begin tomorrow at 2.30p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, July 21st for Term 3.

Your child's Semester 1 Student Progress Report will be uploaded to Compass on Friday, July 25th at 4.00p.m. This will be an opportunity to celebrate learning and discuss goals for the future which will require a 'have-a-go' attitude for success.
