Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Excursion
Our Grades 5 & 6 students were very lucky to be invited to John Paul College to watch their 2024 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Here is a summary of the day written by some of the students who attended -
On Wednesday the 23rd of May, all of the 5/6s went to John Paul College to watch their production, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The production went from 11:00am, to roughly 1:20pm with one, twenty minute break halfway through. After the production finished, we were all presented with a bag of jelly beans. In the end I think that Mike TV was a fan favourite with an amazing move where he did the splits, somehow pulled himself back up and spun around, all at the same time!
Charlie - Grade 5
Willy Wonka was at John Paul College. It was a fun time.Unfortunately, there was half time for 15 minutes. My favourite character was Mike TeeVee and Charlie Bucket. My favourite part was watching the news when they told everyone who got the golden ticket!
James J - Grade 5
On the 23th of May, the grade 5/6s went to John Paul College to watch their production which was "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory". It was very fun to watch and it was funny. The main characters were Charlie Bucket, Willy Wonka, Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Mike Teevee and Violet Beauregarde. All the characters were great and we really enjoyed it. Our favourite part was when Veruca tried to take a squirrel and the squirrels ripped her body parts apart (they didn't actually rip her body parts). It was very fun!!!!

National Reconciliation Week
This week St Augustine's recognised National Reconciliation Week. National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
At St Augustine's each class/student learnt about the significance of NRW and then made a pledge to commit to reconciliation. Our FIRE Carrier students ran colouring of bookmarks and the NRW poster at lunchtimes, chose books that highlighted first-nations cultures and shared them with classes and, led the school in a liturgy.

Long Absences & Late Arrivals
Just a friendly reminder to please advise the school of student absences at your earliest convenience, either via email or the absence line. When leaving a message on the absence line, please include your name, the student's name, and classroom, along with the reason for the absence.
If your student arrives at school after the music has stopped playing, they will need to sign in at the office. We are happy to assist you and your children at the office with this.
This prevents us from sending you a clarification text. If you have a senior student please remind them they must come via the office to let us know they have arrived at school.
Extended absences for example holidays during term time need to be communicated with our principal, Mrs Carrie Rodda. Please email her directly: principal@safranksth.catholic.edu.au
